Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Financial Accountant to join a small manufacturing company. The ideal candidate will possess strong skills in handling accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll (in-house), payroll tax reports, and sales tax reports. Additionally, the candidate will manage annual renewals of various insurance policies, including health, commercial liability, and workers' compensation.
ResponsibilitiesProcess accounts payable transactions including PO matching, coding, and payment processing.Manage accounts receivable by handling customer accounts, processing invoices, payments, and collections.Maintain and update the Work in Progress report on a quarterly basis.Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements.Conduct in-house payroll processing.File payroll, sales, and use tax returns.Renew insurance policies including commercial liability, health, and workers' compensation.Implement and maintain internal controls.Participate in assigned projects.Maintain accurate and organized record keeping.Essential SkillsProficiency in accounting, general ledger, reconciliation, and month-end processes.Strong skills in accounts payable and accounts receivable management.Experience in financial reporting and analysis using Quickbooks.Knowledge of WIP reporting, balance sheet preparation, and GAAP principles.Additional Skills & Qualifications5+ years of experience as an accountant.Experience in manufacturing or WIP reporting.Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.Proficiency in Quickbooks.Work Environment
This is a 100% in-office position within a small manufacturing company, offering the opportunity to engage in full-cycle accounting work. The work schedule is Monday through Thursday from 7 A.M. to 5 P.M., and Friday from 8 A.M. to 12 P.M.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Houston, Texas.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $33.65 - $40.87/hr.
