Black & McDonald is seeking an accountant to support our Louisville, KY and Indianapolis, Indiana offices. If you are a committed and collaborative professional looking to contribute to a hard-working, innovative team, this opportunity is for you.

Black and McDonald, is actively seeking an Accountant who typically reports directly to the Controller. This role in conjunction with the Controller will execute projects in accordance with Corporate Policy.

Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Assist AP with voucher processing, issuing payments, document retention/managementMonth end closing and reconciliationPreparation, review & analysis of monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports. Assist with preparation of payrolls for hourly employees, and related government & union remittances & reporting. Budgeting and ForecastingCustomer Billing for Large ProjectsBank account reconciliationsGeneral Ledger account reconciliationsTax Preparation and ComplianceProcess and controls monitoringOther numerous accounting duties.Communicates Effectively Continuous Learning Customer FocusProblem Solving and InnovationTeamwork and Collaboration Growth Mind-setStrategic Perspective Attention to DetailStrong Time ManagementBachelor’s Degree in finance or business administration, accounting or similar field

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s Degree in finance or business administration, accounting or similar field

WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Minimum of 5 years’ related work experience, preferably in the construction industryPublic accounting experience a plusExcellent written and oral communicationsOutstanding organizational and time management skills with the ability to multi-taskSuperior interpersonal skillsProficiency in JD Edwards or oracle-based software would be considered an assetWorking knowledge of all Microsoft ApplicationsStrong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
