We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Accountant to join our client in Southern NH, New Hampshire. In this role, you will play a key part in analyzing financial data, maintaining accurate cost records, and supporting essential accounting processes. This position offers an excellent opportunity to grow your expertise in cost accounting within a dynamic manufacturing environment. COST ACCOUNTING NOT REQUIRED, just an eager person willing to learn who picks things up quickly!
Responsibilities:
• Analyze cost data related to materials, labor, and overhead to ensure accurate financial reporting.
• Maintain detailed cost accounting records and oversee product cost calculations.
• Contribute to month-end closing activities, including preparing journal entries and performing variance analysis.
• Conduct inventory analysis and reconciliation, managing daily cycle counts and physical inventory processes.
• Develop and update standard costs and bills of materials to reflect accurate production data.
• Collaborate with operational and production teams to identify opportunities for cost optimization.
• Participate in data migration and system transition activities to ensure seamless integration and compliance with company standards.
• Perform daily work order closures and provide insight into cost variances.
Requirements
• 2–4 years of experience in accounting or finance, with exposure to manufacturing environments preferred.
• Understanding of cost accounting principles or inventory management preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with accounting systems; experience with ERP systems is a plus.
• Ability to adapt to new systems and processes during organizational transitions.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail to manage multiple priorities effectively.
• Excellent communication skills to collaborate across departments and organizational levels.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
