Metal Face Seals (MFS) has an exciting opportunity available as an Accountant where you can directly contribute to Caterpillar’s strategy of building a better and more sustainable world. This role is part of the Metal Face Product Group within the Resource Industries Division (RI) of Caterpillar and works with a cross-functional team of accountants, engineers, supply chain, etc. In an operations role at Caterpillar, you work with the final commercial products being made and can directly see the impact of your contributions. In addition, you will have the opportunity to develop tools in a fast-paced and innovative global organization. This role will encourage you to demonstrate and develop your leadership skills, utilizing excellent communication and financial analysis skills. **What You Will Do:** + Monthly accountable financial reporting, forecasting and decision support which includes presenting and providing actionable insights, and recommendations to leadership. + Providing support to the Business Manager preparing forecasts and budget scenarios + Capital Coordinator for MFS (Operations and Product Group) + Investment analysis on capital projects + Financial accounting which includes preparation of journal entries, variance analysis, and account reconciliations + Provide business insights by analyzing risks & opportunities + Apply and provide guidance on accounting issues + Participate in and lead teams addressing complex problems **What You Have:** + **Education/Experience:** Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance and 4+ years of accounting experience. + **Accounting:** Knowledge of accounting methods, processes, and tools; ability to maintain and prepare financial statements and reports using accounting methods and processes. + **Financial Reporting:** Knowledge of processes, methods, and tools of financial reporting; ability to create and maintain accurate and thorough financial reports. + **Effective Communications:** Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors. + **Analytical Thinking:** Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems. **Top Candidates Will Also Have:** + Strong background in accounting; investment analysis, and budget development and explanation of results against expectations + Proven record of success and accomplishments at lower levels + SAP Experience + Power BI Experience **Additional Info:** + Primary location: Mapleton, IL + Domestic relocation assistance is available for those who qualify + Sponsorship is not available **What You Will Get:** + Our goal at Caterpillar is for you to have a rewarding career.
