Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join an exciting Startup in Irvine, California. This role offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, contributing to key accounting processes and financial operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting practices and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively. Responsibilities: • Maintain and reconcile the general ledger, ensuring the accuracy and proper classification of all financial transactions. • Assist in executing monthly, quarterly, and year-end close procedures in compliance with organizational standards. • Oversee fixed asset tracking, including hardware, office improvements, and furnishings, ensuring accurate documentation. • Prepare financial reports and conduct variance analyses to support budgeting and forecasting efforts. • Perform bank reconciliations, create journal entries, and maintain detailed balance sheet schedules. • Manage accounts payable processes, including invoice coding, documentation verification, and payment approvals. • Initiate and authorize wire and bank transfers while adhering to financial protocols. • Review and validate financial data, identifying opportunities for process optimization. • Collaborate with external auditors by organizing required documentation and addressing audit inquiries. • Evaluate vendor contracts to assess financial implications and ensure compliance with company policies. Requirements • Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting or finance roles, preferably within a startup or high-growth environment. • Proficiency with accounting systems such as NetSuite, Oracle, QuickBooks, or SAP, as well as advanced Microsoft Excel skills (e.g., VLOOKUP, pivot tables). • Strong knowledge of fixed asset management and financial reporting standards. • Experience in fintech, financial services, or SaaS industries is advantageous but not mandatory. • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational capabilities. • Analytical mindset with excellent written and verbal communication skills. • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities. • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
