Job Summary

As a Real Estate Accountant, in our Corporate Accounting department, you will be responsible for administering and managing the daily requirements of accurately accounting for your assigned business area. This is a comprehensive position that requires a solid understanding of all aspects of accounting. The Real Estate Accountant will oversee real estate specific accounting operations including control systems, transaction-processing, reporting, property management accounting and policies and procedures.

THIS IS A HYBRID WORK MODEL ROLE, REQUIRED TO WORK AT OUR CRANBERRY OFFICE 3 DAYS PER WEEK (TUESDAY, WED. AND THURSDAYS).

Experience Required: 2-4 years accounting experienceEducation Required: Bachelor’s Degree (Accounting)An excellent knowledge of Microsoft Excel, able to use pivot tables and VLOOKUPKnowledge of property management and lease accounting software (i.e.TRIRIGA, simpLEASE)Resourceful and self-motivated with ability to work in matrixed, fast-paced, ambiguous, and changing environments.Strong analytical and problem-solving skillsProven organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to handle multiple tasks with strong financial acumenExceptional and articulate communication skills are required for critical conversation

Job ResponsibilitiesPrepare, review and interpret financial information on a monthly basis to ensure accurate and timely distribution of financial reports.Responsible for reviewing for P&Ls for accuracy, answering P&L questions and booking all recurring and nonrecurring entries.  This includes monthly variance analysis for revenues and expenses (actual vs budget).Review income statement and balance sheet accounts monthly and prepare journal entries and account reconciliations accurately.Perform timely month-end close procedures and ensure that all pertinent transactions are recorded, including monthly accruals and properly documented journal entries.Preparation of the annual budget.Complete research and review of financial reporting for internal inquiries and facilitate effective conversations with internal parties.Assist in the preparation of financial reports, as requested, to ensure accurate and timely information is distributed.Actively evaluate assigned responsibilities and implement solutions that ensure efficient and effective procedures are utilized on an ongoing basis.Foster strong working relationships with Team Members across the company to ensure efficient operation of the department and business.Assist in resolving issues and improving work processes of the Real Estate Department while ensuring the department objectives are met. Recommend appropriate changes to improve systems and controls where required.Coordinate and provide detailed information to external auditors for the annual auditAssist in special projects as requested.
