We’re expanding our Medical and University Sales team and are looking for a dynamic professional to join us! This position offers flexible location options, but candidates must be based in a Drury Hotel city with convenient access to an international airport. Preference will be given to those located in the Midwest, especially in Tennessee.

As an Account Sales Executive in our Medical & University Vertical at Drury Hotels, you will conduct sales activities related to selling our portfolio of 150 hotels in 30 states, including guest rooms and meeting facilities. You will be responsible for account revenue growth, new account development, the creation and achievement of strategic quarterly sales plans, and the cultivation of account relationships with key decision-makers.

The majority of your work time, approximately 70%, will be dedicated to engaging with clients and driving sales. The remaining 30% will be allocated towards essential administrative tasks. Additionally, this role presents exciting opportunities for travel, with the potential for up to 50% of your time spent outside of your home city.

Hybrid Work - Remote work two days per week is available to team members who maintain performance expectations.

WHAT WILL YOU DO

Drive revenue growth within the assigned account portfolio, focusing on mid-tier accounts that have the potential to utilize three or more Drury Hotels, while also seeking opportunities for growth across all 150 hotels.

Develop new business within the Medical & University Market, actively expanding the market presence.

Manage relationships and provide total account management, ensuring vertical saturation across the assigned accounts.

Demonstrate strong business acumen within the assigned vertical segment and collaborate effectively with stakeholders across Drury Hotels, leveraging this knowledge for mutual success.

Oversee the RFP or industry bid process, identifying new business opportunities, negotiating rates, completing bids, and managing the rate load process.

Proactively and creatively explore opportunities across the entire hotel chain in customer interactions, aiming to establish partnerships that extend beyond a single hotel account and encompass the entire brand.

Engage in networking activities within the Medical & University industry groups to enhance brand recognition, promote company programs, and acquire key business leads.

Comprehend and adhere to company programs and procedures, including but not limited to: Drury United, The Sales Difference, Drury Rewards, Sales Leads, and Group Inquiries.

WHAT WE EXPECT OF YOU

Demonstrates intermediate knowledge of sales techniques and exhibits proficiency in professional business practices.Possesses excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to articulate ideas clearly in English.Displays proficient computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Office applications.Exhibits effective time management, presentation, and organizational skills.

Education

Requires a high level of knowledge, skill, and intellectual development equivalent to the completion of a four-year college degree.A college degree related to sales and marketing is highly recommended and valued.

Experience

Requires a minimum of 3-5 years of proven experience in outside sales and account management, specifically with regional or national business-to-business accounts.Previous experience in hospitality or a related field is preferred, showcasing familiarity with the industry.Strong preference for candidates with experience in the assigned vertical segment and a track record of success in market sales.
