WORK EXPERIENCE

Experience implementing account reconciliation and controls practices within the highly regulated financial services sector

Advanced knowledge of audit, reconciliation and control process flows

Fluency in financial products, regional accounting principles and practices

FUNCTIONAL SKILLS

Expert understanding of financial statements and general ledgers, and ability to identify and highlight discrepancies or issues

Extensive knowledge of financial products, accounting principles and compliance regulations

Knowledge and experience on Reconciliation System (IntelliMatch system preferable)

Proven ability to explain procedures and the rationale behind account reconciliation and control initiatives

Thorough understanding of regulatory and reporting requirements, as well as of risk types, policies and control measures and processes

Extensive knowledge of applicable regional accounting agencies and principles such as FASB and GAAP

Expertise in process flow or workflow creation as well as process improvements to enhance service quality and process integrity

Demonstrated ability to analyze and interpret reports

RESPONSIBILITIES

Reconciliation of daily movements in assets and liabilities accounts and client settlements, and investigation and resolution of reconciliation breaks

Reconciliation of general ledger accounts for commercial and corporate loans in the system of record

Ensuring all lending transactions are booked and managed accurately, minimizing operational risks and losses and ensuring compliance with all bank policies and procedures

Conducting monthly certification of general ledger balances

Identifying and resolving breaks

Reducing errors, and ensuring adherence to audit and control policies

Identifying policy gaps and formulating and instituting policies to streamline processes

Performing reconciliation data analysis and making insights-based recommendations

Conducting process mapping to identify significant risks and controls

Supporting activities related to both internal and external audits and other requests

Overseeing vendor quality control

EDUCATION

Degree or equivalent work experience equally preferable

The typical base pay range for this role is between $72K - $105K depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and location. This role may also be eligible for certain discretionary performance-based bonus and/or incentive compensation.
