As an Account Manager for Upstream Chemicals, you are demonstrating strong commercial acumen, technical understanding, and customer‑management skills. You are overseeing field specialists, managing key accounts, and ensuring service excellence across all assigned locations. You are identifying value‑creation opportunities, supporting indirect upselling, and communicating results to customers. You are developing operational plans, driving continuous improvements, and collaborating with leaders across the business to execute priorities. You are working within established contracts and frameworks while maintaining flexibility to adapt to customer needs.
As an Account Manager (Upstream Chemicals), you are being responsible for:
Managing customer accounts and delivering exceptional service quality
Overseeing Field Specialists assigned to the account and supporting their operational activities
Driving indirect upselling by identifying opportunities within existing accounts
Communicating value creation, performance metrics, and service outcomes to customers
Developing and executing an operational year plan for assigned accounts or geographic areas
Recommending improvements to products, processes, and procedures
Contributing to planning within a larger business unit
Collaborating with senior‑level stakeholders across business, SPB, and EB levels
Specifying customer needs, defining project approaches, and presenting findings
Implementing updated processes and procedures provided by other functions
Operating within predefined contracts and frameworks, with some latitude to adapt based on customer requirements
Managing a portfolio of diverse clients within a region
To be successful in this role you will:
Have experience in Account Management, preferably in Upstream Chemicals or Oil & Gas operations
Have the ability to manage customer relationships and communicate value effectively
Have experience working with field operations or technical service teams
Have strong skills in planning, problem‑solving, and process improvement
Have the ability to collaborate with senior stakeholders across functions
Have a customer‑focused mindset with strong communication and presentation skills
Have the ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities
