Account Manager/Senior Account Manager - Gas Supply (Midstream)

Primary Purpose

Responsible for identifying, negotiating, and securing natural gas supply that support the operational and strategic goals of the Texas Intrastate group. This role is critical in ensuring the reliable and profitable flow of gas through Kinder Morgan’s Midstream assets by aligning supply transactions with marketing commitments.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Account Management & Relationship Development:

Manage a portfolio of natural gas producers to foster long-term, mutually beneficial relationshipsServe as the primary point of contact for assigned producers, ensuring consistent, transparent communication regarding operational updates, contract performance, nomination schedules, and commercial opportunitiesAct as a liaison between internal teams and external stakeholders to facilitate timely issue resolutionsIdentify and pursue new supply opportunities to expand Kinder Morgan’s Midstream footprintManage monthly gas supply nominations and coordinate with scheduling teamVerify producer payments and resolve discrepancies in coordination with accounting

Contract Negotiation & Execution:

Understand and negotiate contractual terms for various types of agreements including NAESBs, Transaction Confirmations, Interconnect Agreements, Transportation/Storage Agreements and Gathering AgreementsCoordinate customer service response with functional peers (Gas Contracts and Legal) for assigned producersEnsure contracts are structured to meet both operational needs and financial targets

Reporting & Analysis:

Track and analyze Weighted Average Cost of Gas (WACOG) across the supply portfolio to ensure accuracy and support financial planningPrepare ad hoc reports and presentations for senior leadership and cross-functional teamsMaintain accurate records of contract terms, volume and customer contact informationAnalyze market trends, competitor activity, and regional drilling forecastsUnderstand market dynamics relative to customer requirements

Position Requirements

Minimum Requirements

Education

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Business Administration, Marketing, Accounting, Finance, Engineering or closely related discipline.

Experience & Specific Knowledge

5+ years of natural gas industry experience; commercial experience a valuable plusKnowledge of Kinder Morgan Midstream assets and other intrastate pipeline systemsWorking knowledge of gas processing, treating and compression operationsKnowledge of supply basins, regional production trends and basis differentials, with a focus on Texas marketsUnderstanding of project economics, including IRR and NPV analysis to support investment decisionsExperience interfacing with cross-functional teams such as Project Management, Operations, Gas Control, Accounting, Legal, Contract Administration, Scheduling and Business Development

Working Conditions
