Job Description

Position Overview

The Account Manager is responsible for managing and growing sales across ROSEA (excluding Singapore) and Malaysia for the Research & Safety Market division, covering chemicals, laboratory consumables, and scientific products.

This role requires strong sales experience in regional markets, proven account management capabilities, and the ability to support customers across academic, government, industrial, and healthcare segments.

📌 Key Responsibilities

Sales & Business Development

Drive sales growth across ROSEA (excluding Singapore) and MalaysiaDevelop and implement sales strategies to achieve revenue and profitability targetsIdentify new business opportunities and expand market coverageConduct customer visits, presentations, and commercial negotiationsMaintain accurate pipeline and forecasting using CRM (e.g., Salesforce)

Account Management

Build and maintain relationships with key customers and distributorsDevelop account strategies to strengthen engagement and retentionLead tender submissions, pricing discussions, and contract renewalsEnsure customer satisfaction through proactive communication and issue resolution

Territory & Market Management

Monitor market trends, customer needs, and competitive activities in ROSEA & MalaysiaIdentify growth opportunities for chemicals, consumables, and laboratory productsSupport distributor/channel partners to improve performanceCollaborate with regional teams for cross-border customer activities

Product & Application Support

Provide product knowledge and technical understanding of laboratory consumables, chemicals, and equipmentWork with suppliers and product specialists for demos, workshops, and trainingsSupport marketing campaigns and customer events

Cross-Functional Collaboration

Work closely with Customer Service, Supply Chain, Finance, and MarketingShare market insights with product management for portfolio decisionsSupport demand planning and forecasting alignment

Reporting & Compliance

Ensure accurate CRM records and activity documentationPrepare sales reports, forecasts, and business reviewsComply with corporate policies, ethics, and EHS standards

📌 Qualifications & Requirements

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Life Science, Biology, Biotechnology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Medical Technology, or a related scientific discipline
ExperienceMinimum 3–5 years of sales experience in chemicals, laboratory consumables, or scientific productsExperience managing ROSEA markets such as Thailand, Vietnam, Philippines, Indonesia, Myanmar, Cambodia, Laos, and BruneiProven success in meeting sales targets and growing regional marketsExperience in distributor/channel management is an added advantage

Skills & Competencies

Strong account management and customer relationship skillsExcellent communication, negotiation, and presentation abilitiesProficient in CRM systems (Salesforce preferred)Strong analytical and forecasting skillsAbility to work independently with minimal supervisionFluent in English; Bahasa Malaysia required; additional regional languages are beneficial

Other Requirements

Willingness to travel frequently within ROSEA and MalaysiaBased in Klang Valley with convenient access to regional routes
