Overview JOB DESCRIPTION DETAILS TITLE ACCOUNT MANAGER REPORTS INTO SNR ACCOUNT DIRECTOR LOCATION SYDNEY or Melbs CLIENT Bank of Queensland ROLE OVERVIEW 3+ years of Account Management experience working on a national account with a deep understanding of agency and client principles and practices. Under the supervision of the Snr Acct Director, the Account Manager is responsible for taking client briefs, assisting to produce strategic recommendations, writing creative briefs in consultation with Planning, briefing creative teams, reviewing work, presenting work to the client and managing the production of TV, Print, Collateral, Digital, Social and Sponsorship materials. CLIENT RESPONSIBILITIES Gains the trust and respect of his/her client counterparts. Is someone that their client counts on and can turn to, and whose opinion is valued by the client. Leads and/or attends client meetings and ensures that accurate contact reports are issued within 24 hours. Contributes to strategy development. Understands the client’s business inside and out, can answer questions (or find out the answers), gathers data, and offers insights into competitors. Contributes to creative development. Can evaluate creative and judge whether it accomplishes the stated goals and is willing to have point of view. Once tha gency approach is aligned within the team, does everything in their power to support and sell the work. Ensures approval on brief prior to jobs going into creative department. Supports creative team throughout development process (e.g. sourcing of information/materials/etc.). Disseminates Information to all team members as appropriate. This will include schedules, cost estimates, market/competitive information, etc. AGENCY RESPONSIBILITIES Organises and manages all aspects of production, including timelines, budgets, briefing process, accuracy of final materials. Ensures that all necessary paperwork is completed in an accurate and timely way. Organises and manages meetings and presentations of all types. Includes Challenge meetings, internal reviews of creative, internal and client WIP meetings, client presentations. Obtains/keeps track of all approvals, including internal, client and legal approvals. Ensures that all files and documentation are properly maintained, and provides easy access to information for clients and/or other members of the team as needed. Shares information appropriately. Ensures agency team and client are up-to-date as appropriate on work in progress items, competitive activity, production schedules and costs/issues, etc. Organises and leads WIP meetings, and ensures that WIP documents are up-to-date and suitably distributed. Understands exactly where each project is at any given point in time. Assesses competitive information, maintains competitive files. Produces competitive reviews as relevant to client (with the help of Business Executive and Business Coordinator) and under the guidance of the Business Director. Has a good understanding of the billing system, manages the JCRs for his/her specific projects and helps to ensure that the invoicing process is adhered to. With the Business Director’s guidance, effectively resolves billing issues/queries with client. Knows who to talk to and how to get things done. SKILLS REQUIRED Strong communication skills. Must be able to accurately communicate information. Must be a good listener. Should be developing his/her presentation and selling skills. Outstanding organisational abilities. Must be able to juggle multiple projects and tasks simultaneously. With the Business Executive, must learn how to prioritise workload and meet deadlines. Cares about the last detail. Displays a level of literacy and numeracy – this should be particularly evident when preparing correspondence, reviewing estimates, etc. Proactively ensures that all material he/she is involved in is impeccable before leaving the agency – i.e. checks contact reports/WIP documents, etc. to ensure no spelling or grammatical errors; checks tapes/DVDs, agendas, etc. are correct; ensures accuracy of everything he/she touches. Is a quick learner. Is able to quickly assimilate information. Must be inquisitive and have a genuine interest in advertising and communications. Is able to suggest and implement solutions for day-to-day challenges. Develops positive relationships with other agency departments. Is honest and conscientious in dealing with other departments. Treats all other members of the agency with respect and courtesy. Proactive and responsive. Takes ownership of projects as relevant (but also knows when to delegate responsibility upward). Does not need constant supervision in order to get the job done. Has a sense of urgency. Computer literate.
