Job Overview:

Ecolab is currently seeking candidates for an Account Manager within our Nalco Water Downstream group. This is your opportunity to join a large growing company offering a competitive base salary, bonus structure and benefits. You will be primarily responsible for maintaining established accounts as well as identifying and developing new market opportunities within the strategic growth area. This position provides an excellent opportunity to learn all facets of water process and fuel additive applications in chemical processing plants, refineries and upgraders, as well as the opportunity to enhance and display communication skills through every level of our key customer’s personnel. You will take a consultative sales approach with a primary emphasis on strong account leadership skills and retention of strategic accounts. In addition, you will build long-term relationships with a large customer base by understanding their key business drivers, executing system assurance programs, and selling new technologies.

Duties:

Working closely with customers to understand business needs and recommending continuous improvement and innovation plans that will maintain and grow sales within the assigned territoryIdentifying and soliciting potential clientsDeveloping strong relationships with key stakeholders, including plant or facility executivesConsulting with clients after sale to resolve problemsGenerating and executing sales plans in assigned customer base to meet defined territory profit increase goalsAssessing market conditions and competitors’ activities and developing an awareness of emerging markets and trendsProviding technical support to customers; identifying and resolving customer complaints, escalating as requiredEngaging in problem solving by performing system analysis, interpreting data and providing written recommendations to ensure customer operations are performing at optimal levelsActively selling and supporting innovations and technology in assigned customers to promote long-term business relationships

Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree or Technical Diploma in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, Industrial) or Life Sciences (Biology, Chemistry)7+ years technical sales or field sales support experience or related industry experiencePrior experience within Overhead Corrosion, Demulsification, Refinery process chemicals or Fuel additivesMust have valid Driver’s LicenseMust have acceptable Motor Vehicle RecordHigh computer application literacy (including Microsoft Office Suite)Previous Refinery/Petrochemical experienceAbility to work independently and must be self-motivatedExcellent communication and organization skillsAbility to learn internal business systemsAccount Management experience that includes calling on multilevel plant of facilities management to accomplish company goalsStrong work ethic and ability to multitaskWater treatment experience is an assetMust have ability to Lift/Push/Pull/Carry up to 55 pounds chest highAbility to travel within the Alberta geographic territory up to 30%Flexibility to provide emergency customer support during off hours and weekends as needed
