What's in it for you:
Trane Energy Services is chartered, in concert with the regional sales offices, to drive the growth of Trane Commercial's Comprehensive Solutions business, consisting of large turnkey contracts, performance contracts, federal contracts, and build-own-operate-maintain contracts. The Validation Engineer is a member of Trane's Energy Services team and is responsible for validating energy savings and providing ongoing measurement and verification activities for projects with energy savings and decarbonization. The Validation Engineer participates in all phases of the project and actively searches for opportunities to help customers optimize their energy savings.
What you will do:
Collect and analyze building automation controls (BAS) trend data.Analyze utility bill data.Assist in peer review of validation reports.Analyze on-site measurements and short-term data collection during construction and post retrofit periods as required.Coordinate activities with local Trane offices for fulfillment of measurement and verification plans.Participate in transition meetings with operations team to ensure project scope, objectives, timeline, and customer requirements have been achieved and the start of the performance period is properly documented.Coordinate with lead Validation Engineer to assess the impact on guaranteed savings of any changes to the contract scope of work.Responsible for completing assigned tasks on time and within budget.
What you will bring:
Bachelor's Degree or experience in a field related to Measurement & Verification of system performance required; or an equivalent combination of education and work experience requiredCandidates without a 4-year degree are encouraged to apply; we prioritize practical experience, relevant skills, and alignment with our leadership principles.Knowledge of Microsoft 365 software.Basic understanding and ability to read and interpret utility bills and building energy consumption.Experience with commercial HVAC, building automation controls, electrical, and domestic water systems.Basic knowledge with the concepts and principles of International Performance Measurement and Verification Protocol (IPMVP).Excellent communication skills and ability to interface professionally with customers at all levels.Requires a responsible, well organized, self-starter individual who can handle multiple responsibilities with minimal supervision.Ability to work under and adhere to preset deadlines.Annual Base Salary Range or Hourly Base Pay Range:
