QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE • Associate’s degree or equivalent required, including or supplemented by courses or technical training in methods and practices of financial record keeping, bookkeeping methods and terminology, and computer accounting systems; • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field preferred; • Two years of progressively responsible experience in the maintenance of financial or statistical records for large or medium-sized institutions; • Two years of progressively responsible clerical/secretarial capacity, preferably in a school district; • Successful experience demonstrating tact, courtesy, and a positive attitude, maintaining cooperative relationships with those contacted during work, especially with high school students; • Fluency in Spanish preferred. OVERVIEW: Under general supervision, to perform complex and responsible work in the keeping of financial or statistical records, and to do job-related work as required. RESPONSIBILITIES: • Gather, assemble, tabulate, check, and file financial and statistical data; • Keep simple financial records and process documents involved in financial transactions; • Make arithmetical calculations with accuracy; • Make and verify extensions; • Type purchase orders, requisitions, and reports; • Keep ledger accounts, balance accounts, and check and correct irregularities; • Receive money and maintain records or receipts; • Operate modern office equipment; • Maintain a variety of logs, records, or receipts; • Operate modern office equipment; • Maintain a variety of logs, records, and files related to the assigned office; • Compile information and prepare summaries and reports, including attendance and enrollment date, grades, and departmental accomplishments, operations, and activities; • Answer the telephone efficiently and relay messages; • Greet students and the public and provide routine information; • See more in the job description attached below.
