Job Title: Accelerator Lead Software Engineer
Location: LyonHybrid: 60% office based, 40% remotePermanent, FulltimeAbout the jobWe are looking for a Software Engineering Lead to join the Manufacturing & Supply (M&S) Accelerator teams. You will lead and manage a team of software engineers, help launch new medicines faster to cover unmet needs and deliver them affordably across the globe. This role is ideal for someone who wants to drive teams to high levels of excellence, initiative and ownership in building products that solve real-world problems.

Main responsibilities:

Manages a team of senior software engineers, including ICs at higher levelsDrives the technical vision for a specialized domain within the broader M&S technology landscapeFocuses on delivering high-quality solutions within a defined technical scope, while contributing to the overall engineering strategy

Organizes teamwork, sets goals, and holds the team accountableMonitors team pace and helps them shineEmpowers team members to own their work while taking on unowned or undesirable work that enables the team to move fasterAligns team priorities with broader departmental objectives and strategic initiativesEnsure data-driven management and decision-making
Technical excellence:
Accountable for the technical output of the teamUpholds a high technical bar while making pragmatic trade-offsDevelops deep technical expertise in domains critical to M&S innovationEstablishes best practices and technical standards within their scope
Coaching & development:
Coaches, provides feedback, and invests in the growth of team members through 1:1s and career planningResponsible for recruiting, performance management, promotions, and employee development in partnership with leadership
Leadership & collaboration:
Leads the vision, strategy, and values within the team and across the Digital M&S AcceleratorCollaborates with stakeholders including product managers, scientists and end users to define and execute the team’s roadmapPartners with leadership on technical direction to enable effective resource allocation and strategic planningCoding isn’t a core responsibility, but you should stay very close to it and be able to provide guidance to the teamsAbout you

Your background:
Significant experience in software engineering (or equivalent knowledge). If you feel qualified, apply regardless of years of experience!Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience is a plusProven experience managing large engineering teams and developing team members professionallyExperience in an innovative, fast-paced environmentTechnical requirements:
Proficiency in JavaScript / TypeScript (Node.js)Proficiency in React or similar frameworksExperience with CI/CD practices and modern DevOps principlesExperience with microservice architectures, API design, and cloud security best practicesInfrastructure as Code (Terraform, AWS CDK, or similar) with experience in one or more of the major cloud providers (AWS, GCP, or Azure) About Manufacturing & Supply (M&S)
