Academy Training Specialist II, Transportation Excellence Academy
The Transportation Excellence Academy (TEA) provides consistent and reliable training experiences for leaders and associates across Amazon Transportation Services (ATS). TEA is seeking a Training Specialist II to develop talent at scale through learning solutions that drive business outcomes. In this role, you will own and manage mid-size training programs, delivering instructor-led training that provides learners with skills critical to their success in role. You will lead weekly sessions on various topics including operational excellence, safety and compliance, leadership development, and leading the Amazon way using a mix of technologies and media platforms.
As a Training Specialist II, you will work independently across multiple client teams, partnering with Operations, PXT, Leadership, and business partners to design, deliver, and continuously improve training experiences. You will own training metrics and program effectiveness, using data to drive decisions and demonstrate business impact. This role requires strong facilitation skills, strategic thinking, and the ability to influence stakeholders at various levels while mentoring and developing other training team members.


Key job responsibilities
Program Ownership & Delivery:
Own and manage mid-size training programs with mid-level complexity across multiple client teams within ATS
Organize and deliver virtual and in-person instructor-led training sessions on topics that ensure learner success, including operational excellence, safety operations, compliance, leadership development, and Amazon Leadership Principles
Create an engaging learner experience using various training strategies and adult learning methodologies as measured through manager feedback and post-training surveys
Facilitate the delivery of a blended learning experience comprised of virtual instructor-led training (vILT) and in-person, hands-on operational training for both internal and external partners (including Senior Leaders) using skillful application of adult learning theory
Demonstrate full proficiency in training material and learning management systems
Ability to travel as appropriate (25%)
Curriculum Management & Needs Assessment:
Design, develop, and continuously improve training content, processes, and delivery methods based on business needs and learner feedback
Provide continuous improvement through proactive identification of content, process, and efficiency gaps
Demonstrate Learn and Be Curious when presented with new and/or modified content, technology, and standard work expectations
Ensure curriculum alignment with business objectives, regulatory requirements, and compliance standards
Metrics & Impact Measurement:
Measure, assess, and document trainee performance, attendance, and competency levels throughout the experience through formalized mechanisms
Own and track training metrics including program completion rates and effectiveness data
Execute learning plans with regular and accurate performance reports
Analyze training effectiveness data and implement improvements to drive business outcomes
Escalate performance management needs as appropriate
Stakeholder Partnership & Influence:
Build partnerships with stakeholders across ATS to remove barriers for learners and drive results
Partner with Operations, PXT, Site Leadership, and business partners to align training solutions with business priorities
Partner cross-functionally to quickly resolve urgent matters and escalations
Influence mid-sized training populations through effective communication and change management
Collaborate with peers to coordinate tasks and perform quality audits
Identify opportunities for program scalability and efficiency improvements
Mentorship & Professionalism:
Share expertise and best practices with team members to build organizational capability
Maintain professionalism and demonstrate the standards outlined in the code of conduct while maintaining a positive attitude
