The Department of Environmental Health and Engineering is seeking an **_Academic Program Administrator_** . This position will oversee all aspects of day-to-day administration of all BSPH academic programs (Masters and PhD). This position will primarily be located within the Bloomberg School of Public Health. The successful candidate is expected to act independently to coordinate a variety of processes and activities for the master, and PhD level academic programs. This position will be a member of the EHE Academic Office and will report to the Academic Program Manager.
Environmental Health and Engineering is a unique department that sits within Bloomberg School of Public Health and Whiting School of Engineering. This position will have the opportunity to learn about the processes of two schools within JHU. The position will be hybrid. The successful candidate has administrative responsibility for complex program elements requiring collaboration with students, faculty, and/or other departments.
**Specific Duties and Responsibilities**
+ Implement processes and procedures to include preparing course schedules, syllabi, classroom and exam schedules, academic advising assignments and schedules, etc.
+ Advise students on academic requirements from admission to graduation. May handle sensitive personal issues with students.
+ Suggest and implement enhancements for student experience including identifying opportunities to build programs, update existing resources, and develop new resources.
+ Create and maintain faculty, student, and course information records.
+ Provide information to students about admission criteria, program offering, degree prerequisites & requirements, etc.
+ Assist with the departmental recruitment processes.
+ Coordinate departmental events such as orientation, open house, information sessions, seminars, and receptions. Including developing program budgets and monitoring expenditures.
+ Preparing catalog copy and course descriptions.
+ Collaborate with Program Director and Communications Manager on marketing, admissions processing, business outreach.
+ May independently manage specific program activities.
+ Compose and prepare routine correspondence to students and faculty.
+ Implement processes and procedures for exams.
+ Implement processes and procedures related to the admissions process for certificate, Master’s, PhD students as well as postdoctoral fellows and visiting students/scholars.
+ Maintain various databases and paper records.
+ Work with administrator and leadership of the department regarding appointments, scholarships, and tuition.
+ Maintain academic calendar and adhere to the requirements of the academic year.
+ Oversees large scale projects in conjunction of the Sr. Academic Program Coordinator.
+ Other duties as assigned.
**Minimum Qualifications**
+ Bachelor's Degree
+ Three years progressively responsible experience in program administration in an academic environment.
+ Additional education may substitute for required experience and additional experience may substitute for required education to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.
