We are seeking a Senior ABAP Software Engineer to serve as the technical owner of SAP solutions, responsible for developing, maintaining, and guiding the implementation of high-quality code. This role demands strong leadership, technical depth, and the ability to manage complex projects while mentoring junior team members.

Role Summary:

This is a senior-level position focused on ABAP development, where the selected candidate will work closely with software managers, solution architects, and global service managers. The individual will be responsible for the design, development, implementation, and support of SAP solutions. This position plays a key role in both new development and the enhancement of existing systems, and also serves as the final level of support for critical technical issues.

Key Responsibilities:

Serve as the technical owner of SAP ABAP solutions, ensuring code quality and maintainability.

Lead the design and implementation of scalable SAP solutions based on business requirements.

Collaborate with global stakeholders, including architects, software managers, and global service managers.

Guide and mentor junior developers and ensure consistent implementation standards.

Participate in complex projects, leading technical development and reviews.

Customize and enhance SAP modules and applications to meet evolving business needs.

Design and implement interfaces between SAP and non-SAP systems for seamless integration.

Ensure code is well-documented, tested, and aligned with best practices.

Provide expert-level support, acting as the final escalation point for technical issues.

Review, approve, and deploy new solutions into production environments.

Contribute to technical strategy, innovation, and continuous improvement efforts.

Job Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Master’s degree is a plus.

7+ years of experience in SAP development, with a strong focus on ABAP.

Experience in leading teams or managing developers in technical projects.

Solid background in SAP modules such as FI, CO, or others relevant to the organization.

Hands-on experience in ABAP development including reports, interfaces, enhancements, forms (RICEF).

Familiarity with SAP HANA, SAP Fiori, and related modern SAP technologies.

Strong understanding of SAP system configuration and integration.

Experience working with databases and SQL in SAP environments.

Proficiency with Agile methodologies and project management tools is highly desirable.

SAP certifications are a plus (e.g., SAP Certified Development Associate).

Excellent problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.

Fluent in English.

Willingness to continuously learn and adopt new SAP technologies.
