Position: ABA Paraprofessional
Start Date: ASAP
Duration: 60 Days (with potential for continuous extensions based on fit)
Location: Elementary School – Uxbridge, MA
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:15 AM–3:15 PM
About the Position
Uxbridge Schools is seeking two ABA Paraprofessionals to support students at the elementary level. These roles are within a therapeutic, separate sub-classroom setting and involve working primarily 1:1 with a student.
Candidates must have at least one year of ABA experience with elementary-aged learners and be comfortable supporting students with:
+ Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
+ Developmental disabilities
+ Behavioral or developmental diagnoses
Behaviors may include eloping, aggression, flopping, or behaviors that could be injurious to self or others.
Key Responsibilities
+ Implement ABA strategies consistently throughout the school day
+ Collect and record data (be prepared to speak to methods/procedures used)
+ Engage in discrete trial training
+ Use de-escalation techniques (training preferred)
+ Support students with trauma-informed practices
+ Assist with toileting/changing when necessary
+ Provide coverage for recess, lunch, and bus duty
+ Offer flexibility to assist in other classrooms as needed
Required Skillset
Candidates must be able to speak to:
+ Experience with ABA methodologies
+ De-escalation strategies & any relevant training
+ Working with students with trauma backgrounds
+ Data collection processes/programs
+ Discrete trial instruction
+ Behavioral support experience in a school setting
Compensation
+ Pay Rate: $22–$27/hr (based on experience)
District Requirements
+ School CORI
+ Fingerprinting
Minimum Requirements:
+ High School diploma or equivalent required
+ Comply with all relevant professional standards of practice
+ Current CPR if applicable
+ TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
+ Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
+ Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
+ Must be at least 18 years of age
