7th Grade English Teacher - $38 per hour
Amergis is seeking a dynamic and dedicated Middle School English Teacher to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will inspire a love of reading, writing, and critical thinking while helping students develop strong communication skills. This teacher will guide students in exploring literature, understanding language structure, and expressing their ideas clearly and creatively, all while fostering meaningful connections between texts, real-world experiences, and students’ own lives. Minimum Requirements: + Bachelor’s Degree or higher required + TN teacher license required + One year of experience as a licensed teacher in related subject area + Current CPR if applicable + TB Questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable + Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation) + Must meet all federal, state and local requirements + Must be at least 18 years of age Duties and Responsibilities: + Plan and deliver engaging, standards-aligned lessons in reading, writing, grammar, vocabulary, and speaking/listening skills + Teach literary and informational texts, focusing on comprehension strategies, analysis, and critical thinking + Instruct students in the writing process, including planning, drafting, revising, editing, and publishing + Provide instruction in grammar, mechanics, and usage within authentic reading and writing contexts + Develop and administer formative and summative assessments to monitor student progress + Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse academic, cultural, and learning needs of students + Provide timely, constructive feedback on student work to support growth and improvement + Foster a positive, inclusive, and well-managed classroom environment that promotes respect and engagement + Integrate technology and instructional resources to enhance learning and literacy skills + Track, analyze, and report student progress in accordance with school and district expectations + Communicate regularly with students, parents, and guardians regarding academic progress and expectations + Collaborate with grade-level teams, special education staff, and support personnel to support student success + Implement accommodations and modifications for students with IEPs, 504 plans, or English language needs + Encourage independent reading and a love of literature through purposeful text selection and activities + Maintain accurate records, lesson plans, and instructional materials + Participate in professional development, staff meetings, and school events as required + Uphold school policies, procedures, and professional standards Benefits At Amergis, we firmly believe that our employees are the heartbeat of our organization and we are happy to offer the following benefits: + Competitive pay & weekly paychecks + Health, dental, vision, and life insurance + 401(k) savings plan + Awards and recognition programs *Benefit eligibility is dependent on employment status.
