Job Description

Sanitation Crew Leader at a glance… 

 

Under the direction of and reporting to the Sanitation Manager, this position is responsible for organizing and empowering a team of sanitation employees in planned cleaning and other key performance indicators (KPIs) while fully engaged in the operation of the department and ownership of bottom line results.  This position will also provide direction to the lab technicians in the in-process labs to ensure balanced workflow between shifts and proper coverage as needed.

Work Schedule:

Monday – Friday; 9:00pm-06:30am however hours may vary

Overtime and weekend work may be required as needed.

What's on the menu? 

Manage and Assign sanitation tasks.

 

Verify sanitation completion before releasing to production.

 

Support scheduling and overtime coverage of ES and Equipment Cleaners.

Monitor chemical concentrations of foaming and sanitizing stations.

 

Place orders for sanitation supplies.

 

Oversee/Meet with Ecolab monthly to review gaps, chemical inventory or other issues.

 

Assist with sanitation activities related to plant projects such as passivation, equipment inspections and cleaning validations.

 

Mentor plant employees on effective sanitation practices.

 

Interact with engineering, contractors, and vendors as necessary.

 

Communicate and coordinate with Quality, Operations, and Maintenance on corrective actions to ensure sanitation efficiency and effectiveness.

 

Ensure that employees are aware of and adhere to all relevant various food safety and quality, GMPs, and environmental compliance programs and policies.

 

Other duties as assigned by Supervisor or Manager.

Position holder must possess a positive attitude and be self-motivated.

Ability to perform basic mathematical functions including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.

Proficient in computer software including but not limited to:  Quality Suite, Meridian, SAP, Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook (email, calendar).  Strong working knowledge of lab equipment.

Excellent customer service skills such as problem solving, timeliness and follow-up required.

Ability to communicate effectively and professionally both verbally and in writing.

Ability to troubleshoot problems and recommend solutions.

Able to accurately read charts and measurement results.

Ability to work with vendors and suppliers.

Ability to perform routine tasks in a self-sufficient, reliable and responsible manner.

Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and work accuracy required.

Lifting, standing, climbing and walking required.

 

Able to train on any shift.
