Job Description:

The schedule for this position is Sunday - Thursday 10:30pm - 7:00am

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Works with production manager to understand production schedules and estimate worker hour requirements for completion of job assignment Work from prints, specifications, and shop ordersMake machine adjustments, including heat, injection pressure, and cycle times for wide range of plastic engineering materials to ensure proper quality and function of partsSet up and adjust assembly equipment, auxiliary equipment, and robots to achieve proper assembly, product containment, and product packagingEnsure part/material containment measures are implementedTroubleshoot molding problemsSolve process problems such as flash, short shots, quality of partsConduct Root Cause Analysis of factors affecting overall product qualityIdentify Continuous Improvement ideas associated within daily duties and overall cell performanceInstallation and removal of molds in the injection molding machineResponsible for part quality associated to their set up and processing parametersContinuous Improvement and 5S adherenceUse personal computer, dial/digital calipers, gauges, hand tools, hand/power lift trucks, and overhead cranesFollow safety rules and keep work area in a clean and orderly conditionOther tasks and duties as assigned

General Technician Job Criteria include being fully capable to perform the following tasks alone

Complete tear down and cleaning of a conventional tool without error in timely fashionComplete mold change to assure we have safe and efficient mold close and open stroke and all machines setting are set properly per the training proceduresStartup a machine using a saved program and assure the machine setting are correct for cavity fill and mold open and close and we are making good productFollow all ITW safety polices while performing all these tasksAbility to work with little or no supervisionMinimum 5  years of technical experience with plastic injection molding, along with hands on experience with raw materials, mold set-up, and troubleshooting skills for electric and hybrid injection machines and auxiliary equipmentPossess good work ethic, is reliable, and dedicated to quality. Must enjoy a fast paced environmentExcellent communication skills both written and verbal (English); good visual skills and reasoning abilityTeam player who demonstrates the ability to relate to employees at all levels of the organization

Protective Equipment Required:

PPE requirements may vary depending on tasks performed.  Long hair must be tied back at all times.  No jewelry, except smooth wedding bands or post earrings, can be worn while performing any duties.  A list of PPE follows:
