Description We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Patient Access Specialist to join our team in Warren, Michigan. This Contract-to-permanent position offers an excellent opportunity to grow within the healthcare industry while contributing to patient care and administrative support. The role involves working on the third shift and includes comprehensive training to ensure success. Responsibilities: • Accurately register patients in the emergency department, including inpatient and outpatient cases. • Provide assistance to patients with technology during the registration process. • Deliver exceptional customer service by addressing patient inquiries and concerns with professionalism. • Perform data entry tasks with precision to maintain accurate patient records. • Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations during the midnight rotation. • Complete all required training, including virtual sessions and hands-on practice, transitioning through various shifts. • Support the department with additional duties as assigned to maintain efficiency. • Uphold all health and safety requirements, including COVID vaccination, flu shots, and occupational health screenings. Requirements • At least 1 year of experience in a related field; healthcare experience is preferred. • Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively and empathetically. • Proven reliability and punctuality in previous roles. • Excellent data entry skills with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail. • Ability to take initiative and work independently when required. • Must be COVID vaccinated and have a flu shot, along with completing an occupational health screening. • Availability to work third shift and adapt to training schedules. • Familiarity with patient registration processes or related healthcare systems is a plus.
