POSITION SUMMARY:
As a Competency Lead, you will play a crucial role in training and educating team members on technical skills essential to the production process. Your primary responsibilities will involve providing technical coaching and valuable insights to production and technician teams through a variety of training methods. You will actively seek opportunities for further development by leveraging available resources, certification processes, computer-based trainings, and coaching techniques. Moreover, you will provide leadership, guidance, and support in implementing effective education and training methodologies within the Training department, ensuring the continuous growth and success of our team members.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsibilities:
Supportive Onboarding:
• Serve as a valuable resource and point of reference for new hires during the onboarding process, providing guidance, support, and answering questions to ensure a smooth transition into their roles.
Continuous Follow-up:
• Conduct regular check-ins with trainers and new hires to monitor progress, address challenges, and provide constructive feedback for improvement, fostering a supportive learning environment.
Collaboration with Production:
• Work closely with production teams to understand specific training needs and align training sessions with operational requirements, ensuring that new hires receive the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in their roles.
Training Experience Guidance:
• Assist in guiding the training experience for new hires, collaborating with the Training Coordinator to determine trainer and new hire allocations based on the roster, ensuring efficient utilization of resources.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Become a subject-matter-expert in using Education and Training Methodologies, supporting technical skill development on assigned shift.
• Work autonomously to conduct and facilitate training while adapting to different learning styles.
• Assist on special teams and projects as needed and/or requested.
• Participate in all site Safety and Quality initiatives.
• All other duties as assigned.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (Minimum):
Education:
• High School diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
Experience:
• 2+ years of manufacturing or related industry experience required.
• 1 year of training experience required. Training experience in a manufacturing setting preferred.
• Experience with problem solving and/or continuous improvement techniques preferred.
Skills:
• Strong verbal, written, and digital communication skills
• Bilingual: English required, Spanish preferred
• Proficient with digital tools (tablet, Microsoft Office Suite)
• Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills
• Ability to influence and motivate a team of peers
• Strong organizational and attention-to-detail skills
• Strong understanding of manufacturing operations processes (how upstream events affect downstream, inputs and outputs, performance)
• Ability to plan and execute a training development plan
• Strong understanding of basic problem-solving techniques preferred
WORKING RELATIONSHIPS (State types of contacts, both inside and outside the company. Describe type of supervisions given and received.):
• Collaborates with Operations, Maintenance, Training, Safety, Quality, and Manufacturing Excellence Teams.
• Interacts with all other departments as needed based on projects and training needs.
• Potential to collaborate with peers at other factories as needed for information sharing and training
The approximate hourly pay for this position is $24.00 to $25.10/hr. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to knowledge, skills and abilities as well as geographic location.
