In this hands-on position, you'll not only set up and operate a wide range of manual machines—such as lathes, grinders, drills, and presses—but also ensure quality by performing in-process inspections and utilizing advanced tools like CMM. As a certified operator, your expertise in machinist and grinding duties will directly impact production efficiency and precision. Additionally, you'll take on key responsibilities like machine maintenance, part handling, and providing leadership to the Machining Module Support Tech. Your ability to manage both technical tasks and support functions will be integral to our success.
This is a third shift position: 10:30 PM- 7 AM . Training will be on first shift: 7:00am – 3:30 pm EST.
**What You Will Do:**
+ Operates various machines within the factory. Assists in all classifications as needed.
+ Specific Responsibilities:
+ Obtains necessary stock, fixtures, tooling and gaging
+ Operates manual and NC machines necessary to produce module parts. For example:
+ Lathes, Grinders
+ ECM
+ Presses, Drills
+ Saws
+ Assist Finishing Technicians with direction
+ Performs handyman duties
+ Performs tumble and deburr operations
+ Performs clerk and tool crib duties Performs machining duties
+ Performs plating duties
+ Performs material processing duties
+ Performs in-process inspection as a certified operator
+ Performs computer transactions
+ Perform Alodine process operations
+ Cleans machines
+ General housekeeping
+ Handles, transports and stores RCRA hazardous waste as required
**Qualifications We Require:**
+ Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent, preferably technical school background, and
+ demonstration of basic educational competencies (reading, writing).
+ Blueprint and routing reading and comprehension
+ Competent with hand tools and experienced with measuring equipment
+ Basic computer skills such as log on, data entry and retrieval
+ Obtain certifications and qualifications required to perform job
+ 8 hour RCRA hazardous waste handler training (initially and annually)

The salary range for this role is $27.22/hr. The salary rate provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
