Job Summary
The 3D Scanning / Dimensional Inspection Specialist is responsible for developing,
maintaining, and verifying structured light (Bluelight) inspection programs while providing
hands-on 3D analysis and shop-floor support. This role partners closely with
Manufacturing Engineering to support new processes, lead inspection-related
improvements, and ensure accurate, reliable dimensional data for production and quality
teams.

Skills and Requirements
Must-Haves
• Generate, maintain, and verify Bluelight inspection programs using Zeiss Inspect 3D
software
• Provide 3D dimensional analysis support to Manufacturing Engineering and train
operators on new or improved inspection processes
• Support daily shop-floor operations with 3D scanning execution, troubleshooting,
and technical guidance
• Develop and maintain workstation instructions and methods for 3D scanning
equipment
• Lead and support process improvement initiatives focused on Safety, Quality,
• Delivery, and Cost related to inspection processes
• Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams in a matrixed organization
• Work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced manufacturing
environment, adapting to changes as needed
• Education and experience requirements:
• Bachelor’s Degree, Associate’s Degree, or Machinist Apprentice graduate with 3years of dimensional inspection experience, OR
• High School Diploma with 6+ years of dimensional inspection experience
• 3+ years of experience with Zeiss Inspect and GOM (Airfoil) software Plusses
• Strong ability to interpret engineering drawings with advanced GD&T knowledge
(ASME Y14.5M-2009)
• Demonstrated proficiency programming and operating manual and automated 3D
scanning systems
• Experience with point cloud processing and mesh generation
• Understanding of inspection data analysis and report generation
• Familiarity with robotic integration for automated inspection systems
• Experience working with CAD solid models (preferably NX 1965 / 2206 / 2412)
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Mathematics, or Computer Science
• Experience with PC-DMIS CMM programming
• Exposure to VXelements, Control X, Geomagic, or Creaform software
• Programming or scripting experience (VBA, Python, or similar)
• Strong problem-solving, organizational, and shop math skills (geometry and
trigonometry)
• Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently
• Experience with HDGT or Aerospace components
• Flexibility to provide off-shift or swing-shift support as needed
