Join Famous Footwear’s Distribution Center in Lebanon, TN as an Operations Manager on 2nd shift. This shift is scheduled for 2:00pm - 11:30 pm, Monday-Friday.
What We Do – Accountabilities
Ensures proper staffing levels are in place to achieve desired daily/monthly goals. Plans and meets labor productivity standards to assist in expense control that meets the budget set for the year. Ensures inventory integrity and systems integrity and execution while maximizing productivity levels throughout the distribution center Ensures leader growth and development by maintaining a robust development and training program focused on growing exisiting and future leaders, and increasing individuals’ potential for growth. Ensures workforce engagement in core company values and through the effective execution of HR, LP and Safety policy and programs
Essential Functions
Accountable for administration, production, KPI’s, quality, and safety. Execute Strategic Labor Planning based on forecasted volume across assigned functional areas. Monitor financial spend and execute in accordance to budget expectations. Set daily, weekly monthly goals based on forecast. Provide leadership, training, development and mentorship for Supervisors and Clerks Manage and support recognition and communication programs. Implement succession planning for team. Thinks outside of the box, creating new strategies and processes to drive efficiency and throughput by breaking the status quo. Create a culture of ownership and participation that fosters a positive work environment. Establishes flexible business plans, and set goals and objectives related to assigned functional areas and the entire operation. Maximizes use of fixed assets. Partners with DC, Corporate and 3rd Parties to implement projects which drive operational changes Provides direction on key responsibilities: Productivity monitoring, reporting and feedback; quality performance and feedback; inventory integrity in all processes; safety training, reporting, and policy; and loss prevention training and awareness. Ensures company policies are communicated, understood, and administered. Maintains a safe, secure and healthy work environment, able to show year-on-year improvements in accident and injury statistics by leading and administering all safety initiatives. Maintains necessary equipment and tools for the operation to succeed. Partners effectively with own leadership team, as well as with teams and other business unit executive leaders off site at other Distribution facilities and at the corporate office.
Preferred Qualifications & Education
Distribution Center Experience 10+ years preferred Demonstrated experience in structured continuous improvement efforts 5+ years in distribution center leadership experience preferred Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Logistics, Operations or related field preferred Strong exposure to lean six sigma preferred
