2nd Shift Manager - Janitorial and Building Maintenance Services

City Wide Facility Solutions is actively seeking a full time 2nd Shift Night Manager for our Central New Jersey office.

Objective

The Night Manager is responsible for ensuring that our Independent Contractors (IC) are providing janitorial and other maintenance services that meet our quality standards and fulfill our client's scope of work. The Night Manager will visit client facilities in a defined territory in Central New Jersey, such as warehouses, distribution centers, auto dealerships, industrial plants, offices, and medical facilities. The Night Manager must be able to exercise good judgment in escalating issues, providing proactive coaching to address performance shortfalls, and be willing to "roll up their sleeves" when necessary to solve problems.

Essential functions

Develop and maintain productive, working relationships with Independent Contractors (IC) and In-House labor by communicating client priorities and collaborating on solving problems.Review scope of work and ensure quality assurance.Communicate with Facility Solutions Manager daily for any issues that need immediate attention, including a nightly recap via email or phone message.Make recommendations for work assignments and terminations when necessary.Manage inspections, customer complaints, and customer requests following City Wide policies and procedures.Oversee new account startsEnsure compliance with client policies & procedures, approved cleaning tools and equipment and their proper use.Other duties as necessary.

Overview of a Typical Day4pm - Clock in at our East Brunswick office. Meet with our Facility Solutions Managers to discuss any client complaints, new starts, feedback on cleaning crews, etc. Read the day's inspection reports. Confirm the accounts you'll visit tonight. 5pm - 11pm - Visit accounts (typically visit a specific geographic area in Central New Jersey....could be Edison one night and Toms River another night, etc.). Visit accounts with complaints first and then check in on other accounts. Route is often planned out in advance for the week, but could change based on customer issues or emergencies. Take any phone calls from cleaning crews while in transit to troubleshoot issues. 11:30 - 12am - Complete final report of what happened that evening, recommendations of any staffing changes, and confirmation that complaints were resolved.
