The 2nd or 3rd Year HVAC/Refrigeration Mechanic is located in Calgary, Alberta reporting to the Division Manager or their designate and requires travel to surrounding areas. The 2nd or 3rd Year HVAC/Refrigeration Mechanic is primarily responsible for the efficient operations and maintenance to a variety of HVAC equipment. The position includes, but is not limited to, installation, identifying the cause of malfunctioning parts/equipment, repair, inspection, etc. Working directly with customers to ensure they are completely satisfied with the work required.

Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Perform routine predictive planned maintenance dutiesComplete work orders and deficiency reportsAssemble and install refrigeration and air conditioning componentsTest heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration systems for leaksRepair and replace components for entire heating, ventilation and air conditioning systemsReading and interpreting blueprintsHandle, recover and store refrigerantsTest and repair electronic componentsClean evaporator and condenser coilsWork on air conditioner/heat pump ductless splits HRV/ERV service and maintenanceRoof top unit (RTU) start up and maintenance both in air conditioning and heating seasonMay occasionally be required to work over 40 hours per week and be available for on-call dutiesOther duties as required

Education Requirements

2nd or 3rd Year Apprentice HVAC/Refrigeration Mechanic Knowledge of a variety of electronic, pneumatic and DDC control systems considered an asset
