Job Description:
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented PLANNER (CRISIS & DISASTER MANAGEMENT to join our team! In this role you will get to support the Crisis & Disaster Management Department in planning, coordinating, and implementing preparedness and response strategies. Assist in research, data analysis, and operational planning to enhance community resilience and emergency readiness.
What You’ll Be Doing
Support risk assessments and horizon scanning to identify hazards, vulnerabilities, and disaster-prone areas. Contribute to strategies that reduce risks and enhance protective measures for people, assets, and services. Develop, review, and align emergency and continuity plans with local legislation, regulations, and international standards. Coordinate and deliver training, exercising, and awareness programs for agencies, partners, and communities. Strengthen community resilience by supporting outreach, engagement, and communication programs tailored to local needs. Support activation of incident management arrangements, including evacuation, shelter logistics, and welfare coordination. Maintain information flow and situational awareness through effective communication with agencies, partners, and the public. Assist in monitoring, documenting, and reporting decisions, actions, and impacts during emergencies. incident assessments, recovery planning, and community support, ensuring continuity of -Contribute to post essential services. Support care, welfare, and social recovery initiatives for affected individuals and groups. Contribute to evaluation, lessons learned processes, and improvement of response, recovery, and continuity capabilities. Demonstrate ethical practice, innovation, sustainability and accountability in all resilience activities, ensuring safe, inclusive and collaborative approaches across partners and communities. Perform any other job related duties as assigned.What Desired Skills You’ll Bring
Bachelor’s degree in Emergency Management, Resilience, Risk Management, Public Safety, Engineering, Crisis Communication, or a related field.Minimum of 3 years relevant experience in crisis, emergency or disaster management, or public safety. Familiarity with incident command systems, risk assessment methodologies, and emergency protocols. Strong communication, organization and planning skills. Ability to work collaboratively in multi-disciplinary teams.
