Amergis
The Residential Aide supports the daily operations of a residential facility by ensuring a safe, clean, and supportive living environment for residents. This role provides direct assistance, monitors resident well-being, enforces program rules, and helps maintain a positive community atmosphere. Residential Aides play a key part in promoting resident independence, stability, and quality of life.
Key ResponsibilitiesResident Support
+ Provide day-to-day assistance to residents with basic needs, including meals, hygiene reminders, and daily routines.
+ Build positive, professional relationships with residents while maintaining appropriate boundaries.
+ Assist residents in following program guidelines and developing independent living skills.
+ Observe and report changes in resident behavior, mood, or health to supervisory staff.
Facility Safety & Monitoring
+ Conduct regular rounds to ensure resident safety and compliance with facility rules.
+ Respond to emergencies, incidents, or conflicts using approved protocols.
+ Maintain accurate logs, incident reports, and shift documentation.
+ Monitor entry/exit activity and uphold security procedures.
Housekeeping & Environment
+ Support upkeep of common areas, ensuring cleanliness and organization.
+ Assist residents with maintaining their personal living spaces.
+ Report maintenance needs or safety hazards promptly.
Program Support
+ Help facilitate group activities, appointments, or transportation as needed.
+ Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and supervision sessions.
+ Collaborate with case managers, clinicians, and other staff to support resident goals.
Qualifications
+ High school diploma or equivalent (some programs may require additional certifications).
+ Experience working in residential, social services, or caregiving settings preferred.
+ Strong communication, patience, and problem-solving skills.
+ Ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations.
+ Basic computer skills for documentation and communication.
Work Environment
+ Shift-based schedule, which may include evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
+ Active role requiring walking, standing, and occasional lifting.
+ Interaction with diverse populations, including individuals experiencing trauma, mental health challenges, or housing instability.
