The Underwriting Summer Internship Program at UWM provides a valuable opportunity for students interested in the financial and mortgage industry to gain practical experience in mortgage underwriting. Interns will work closely with UWM's underwriting team, learning the intricacies of assessing loan applications and gaining valuable insight into the decision-making process.

 

The Risk Team Summer Internship Program at UWM will allow interns to assist the Risk Management team in identifying, assessing, and mitigating various risks associated with UWM's operations. This internship provides an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in risk analysis, compliance, and operational assessments within the mortgage industry. 

 

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

UNDERWRITING 

 

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:

Audit loan files for specific criteria by conducting SWAT reviews, including risk analysisCreate reports and present findings to Senior LeadershipAnalyze data to help the business as a wholeCreate and enhance training materialsAssist our Underwriting Training team with classroom enrollments and other various data projectsAnalyze hiring trends and their impact on the teamWork in Microsoft Office products and PowerBICreate reporting dashboards to be used by Senior LeadershipFacilitate fun and friendship activities for the team

NICE TO HAVE QUALIFICATIONS:

Proficiency with Microsoft ExcelHave a passion for training and developmentCurrently enrolled in a degree program related to Finance, Auditing, Accounting, Statistics, Actuarial Science, or similar

 

RISK TEAM

 

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:

Assist in conducting risk assessments and evaluations for various business operations and processesSupport the development and implementation of risk management policies and proceduresConduct research on industry trends and best practices related to risk managementHelp analyze data and prepare reports on risk exposures and mitigation strategiesParticipate in team meetings and contribute to discussions on risk management initiativesAssist in monitoring compliance with risk policies and regulatory requirementsPerform other duties as assigned by members of the Risk team

 

NICE TO HAVE QUALIFICATIONS:
