Job Description

Pharmacovigilance Operations (PV Operations), part of PSPV Strategy and Operations Office, plays a critical role in the safety profile of Takeda products. Among several other responsibilities, the team ensures standards for collection and processing of ICSRs which include alignment with GDPR requirements, oversees development of global SOPs and policies to ensure compliance with regional PV regulatory requirements and to drive improvements in Takeda global PV processes, and ensures overall performance of the department and compliance with global regulatory requirements by implementation of appropriate SOPs, processes, key performance metrics, and monitoring of performance and compliance, and training at a global level.

Patient safety is of the utmost importance at Takeda and the PV Operations team’s day-to-day operations focus on just this. This role allows a current student the opportunity to gain a deep understanding of the world of patient safety while contributing to key projects.

How You Will Contribute:

Duties will include the following, under the manager's supervision

Support the collection and processing of safety information

Participate in cross-functional workshops targeting PV Operational excellence

Contribute to multiple PV related projects

Internship Development Opportunities:

The intern will gain a deep understanding on patient safety

The intern will collaborate with other PV related stakeholders both internal (e.g., PV Systems group) and external (e.g., CROs)

The intern will be mentored in planning and executing milestones contributing to PV project successes

The intern will gain experience with global regulatory requirements surrounding good pharmacovigilance practices during audit/inspection preparation and execution
 

Job Requirements:

Must be pursuing a Bachelors or a Master’s Degree, ideally in a healthcare or pharmacy related program

A passion for science and an interest in careful investigation and creative, analytical thinking.

Suitable for students from disciplines such as biology, biochemistry, pre-nursing, nursing, pre-pharmacy.

Internship Eligibility  

Must be authorized to work in the U.S. on a permanent basis without requiring sponsorship  

Must be currently enrolled in a degree program graduating December 2026 or later  

The internship program is 10-12 weeks depending on the two start dates (May 26th-August 14th or June 15th- August 21st)   

The intern must be able to commit to one of these time frames   

Able to work full time 40 hours a week during internship dates   

Takeda does not provide a housing stipend or relocation support for the U.S Summer Internship Program

U.S. Hourly Wage Range:

$21.00 - $46.00

The estimated hourly range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual hourly wage offered will depend on the candidate’s school year/level to be entered following completion of internship.  The actual hourly wage offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location.
