Job Description

The Statistical Process Control (SPC) group supports Manufacturing Sciences by applying statistical methods to monitor manufacturing processes. This includes data collection and analysis, the continued process verification (CPV) program, and collaboration with cross-functional teams at MA BioOps and globally.

The SPC summer intern will learn and apply statistical process control (SPC) techniques to assist with monitoring process performance as part of the CPV program at MA Bio Ops. The intern may also assist with data collection, visualization, and interpretation to support sections of the annual product quality report (APQR/PQR) under supervision of the Senior SPC Engineer.


How You Will Contribute:

Support Statistical Process Control (SPC) team

Learn and apply SPC statistical techniques and analyze trends for regular CPV meetings

Assist SPC team utilizing software (JMP, Statistica, Spotfire, Databricks)

Other support as-needed for SPC team
 

Assist in preparing the Annual Product Quality Review (APQR/PQR) report sections for In-process and release manufacturing data

Compile control charts, statistical summary table for the PQR

Inform subject matter experts (SMEs) of draft completion and collaborate with SMEs input on the PQR sections
 

Data collection and Monitoring

Collect data from various software (Statistica, Spotfire)

Learn basic SPC/CPV monitoring techniques and statistical analyses
 

Collaboration

Work with cross-functional teams to gain knowledge about the manufacturing process

Internship Development Opportunities:

How to collaborate with different personnel involved in process that are supported by the SPC group.

Gain practical experience with data collection and analysis, as well as use of statistical software tools to support analysis.

Participate in cross-functional teams for the continued process verification (CPV) program.
 

Job Requirements:

This position will be hybrid (3 days on-site minimum at Lexington, MA).

Must be pursuing a Bachelors Degree in a STEM field.

Demonstrated ability to work effectively as a collaborative team member. 

Internship Eligibility  

Must be authorized to work in the U.S. on a permanent basis without requiring sponsorship  

Must be currently enrolled in a degree program graduating December 2026 or later  

The internship program is 10-12 weeks depending on the two start dates (May 26th-August 14th or June 15th- August 21st)   

The intern must be able to commit to one of these time frames   

Able to work full time 40 hours a week during internship dates   

Takeda does not provide a housing stipend or relocation support for the U.S Summer Internship Program

U.S. Hourly Wage Range:

$21.00 - $46.00

The estimated hourly range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual hourly wage offered will depend on the candidate’s school year/level to be entered following completion of internship.  The actual hourly wage offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location.
