What you can expect in this role
As a Spectrum intern, you’ll spend the summer working alongside two teams — your respective department and your intern peer group. Department and team-focused projects account for about 80% of your schedule. You’ll spend the other 20% on professional development sessions and networking activities, including the Kickoff Conference on May 27th, webinars, community service, cross-functional projects, and final presentations.

Charter's Financial Reporting Intern will have the opportunity to support the Financial Reporting department in project-based work such as:
Facilitate and drive consistency of internal controls across the organization through narrative standardization Attend SOX walkthroughs for business processes and related systems Assist with flowchart documentation to capture the data flow for business processes Assist with documentation requests from the internal and external audit teams to support the financial statements and internal controls Assist the External Reporting team with preparation of the financial statement and footnote tie-outs for quarterly SEC filings and earnings materials Assist the External Reporting team with preparation of the Disclosure Checklist for quarterly SEC filings Assist the Technical Accounting team in review of contracts and accounting arrangements for the appropriate accounting and presentation of conclusions to key company personnel Support and interact with various departments through the Company, including Corporate Accounting, Tax and Internal AuditRequired qualifications
Must be currently enrolled in an accredited College or University completing a bachelor’s degreeMust have at least a 3.0 GPA or greater in current programAbility to travel locally to Spectrum intern development events and activities throughout the programAuthorization to work in the U.S. without restrictions or need for future sponsorshipPreferred qualifications
Currently enrolled in degree program in field of study and planning to pursue a CPA licenseProficiency in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Access Highly organized, ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously Strong analytical problem solving and critical thinking skills Strong written and verbal communication skills Project and time management skillsWorks well in a team environment#LI-WP1
