Job Description

This internship experience will support the design and validation of various low-pressure and high-pressure gasoline engine components. The student will also support other departments in the plant (production, quality, etc) when development related tasks arise.

Examples of tasks include:

Tear-downs of field return/development tested components to expose internal failure locations in order to analyze surface conditions.Documentation of tear-down investigations (presentations and/or reports) and presenting resultsCoordinating and conducting design related testingData analysis, interpretation and presentation of testing resultsCreating scripts in order to automate repetitive tasks.

Qualifications

Preferred Skills and Background:

Interest in Automotive BackgroundMechanical background along with general understanding of materialsMatlab and CAD experienceCoding experience (python, javascript, etc)Ability to effectively present and communicate findingsAbility to work within a teamKnowledge of mechanical drawing, Geometric dimension & tolerance

Minimum Requirements:

Currently enrolled in an accredited university majoring in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or Materials Science with at least one semester completed.Strong Microsoft Office skills
