The Research Student position is a one‑year, full‑time appointment designed for highly motivated medical students, recent graduates, or trainees seeking advanced experience in research within Rhinology & Pediatric otolaryngology or Head & Neck Surgical Oncology. This role provides exposure to investigator‑initiated and industry‑sponsored research, multidisciplinary collaboration, and opportunities for clinical observation within a high‑volume tertiary care setting. This position is ideal for individuals preparing for otolaryngology residency.
This is a 1 year temporary position that will begin July 1, 2026 and will conclude on June 30, 2027. This position is not available for visa sponsorship.
**A caregiver in this position works from 8:00AM - 5:00PM.**
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
+ Participate in weekly to biweekly research meetings to review progress, timelines, and study objectives.
+ Collaborate closely with faculty, residents, fellows, research coordinators, and multidisciplinary teams across Rhinology or Head & Neck Surgical Oncology.
+ Commit up to 39 hours per week to research, data management, and approved clinical observation activities.
+ Support the coordination and organization of multidisciplinary conferences, including tumor board and subspecialty research meetings.
+ Maintain and update clinical databases, including outcomes tracking and patient‑reported outcome measures (PROMs).
+ Assist with IRB submissions, protocol development, regulatory documentation, and study coordination.
**Student Goals**
+ Develop proficiency across all phases of clinical research, including:
+ IRB submission and regulatory compliance
+ Study design and database development
+ Statistical analysis and interpretation
+ Manuscript preparation and peer‑review submission
+ Abstract development and conference presentations
+ Author or co‑author multiple peer‑reviewed publications during the fellowship year.
+ Build a competitive academic portfolio and CV

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
+ Previous research laboratory experience
+ Accepted or enrolled in an accredited college or university as a medical student, MA/MS student or other graduate program student; excludes PhD students
+ A desire to gain proficiency in all aspects of clinical researchincluding IRB application, grant writing, data analysis, manuscript preparation, and conference presentations.
+ Willingness to author or co-author 5-10 peer-reviewed publications during the fellowship year.
**Pay Range**
Minimum hourly: $15.00
Maximum hourly: $150.00
The pay range displayed on this job posting reflects the anticipated range for new hires. A successful candidate's actual compensation will be determined after taking factors into consideration such as the candidate's work history, experience, skill set and education. The pay range displayed does not include any applicable pay practices (e.g., shift differentials, overtime, etc.).
