Job Summary: School psychologists are hired by school systems and responsible for providing support to students who face emotional, social, behavioral and academic challenges. School Psychologists help school children get the counseling services they need to succeed in school and in life. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Work with parents, teachers and school administrators to understand what counseling services would best work for the students to be treated. (possibly a referral) Provide counseling services (group or individual) to families and teachers, while connecting them to resources that can help address problems in the classroom and at home. Administer tests as a way to identify what is getting in the way of a student’s learning potential Results of the assessment process
