We are looking to hire innovative changemakers who aim to continue our goal of becoming the high school experts across Southern California. Sound like you? Keep reading.
Position Overview
As a 1:1 Instructional Aide at Ednovate, you will be responsible for ensuring that students with Individualized Education Plans receive differentiated behavior and/or academic support. You will work closely with the Special Education Teacher to reinforce instructional objectives and support the Special Education department as needed as the primary one-to-one support for your assigned students with learning differences. This role is an exciting opportunity for someone with strong interpersonal and collaboration skills and a growth mindset looking to launch a career in education to create positive multigenerational change in a collaborative, results-oriented environment. This is an hourly, non-exempt role that reports to the Special Education Resource Teacher.
What You'll Do
Provide one-on-one academic and behavior support. Adapt classroom activities and materials, assignments, and assessments, provide instruction in individual and group settings, and assign homework and make-up work under the direction of the supervising teacher to reinforce classroom objectives and meet IEP goals. Monitor the student’s daily schedule and appropriately manage student behavior, implementing behavior support plans and strategies as needed to maintain a safe and positive learning environment.
Support special education systems and compliance. Communicate with supervising instructional staff, student programming leaders, health care professionals, and professional support personnel on a regular basis to assist in evaluation of student progress and/or implementation of class and/or IEP goals and objectives. Participate in IEP meetings as appropriate. Maintain appropriate documentation, records, and reports. Maintain confidentiality of students and families as mandated by district, state and federal regulations.
Who You'll Be
Mission-driven professional passionate about increasing college attainment for historically under-represented students
Social justice champion committed to promoting educational opportunity for all students and families
Entrepreneurial spirit who thrives in a workplace characterized by autonomy, flexibility, transparency and accountability
Collaborative team player who works well with others from diverse backgrounds, uplifts and celebrates our teammates and engages in healthy debate and feedback to get the best results for students and families
Resourceful, persistent learner with a growth mindset, constantly seeking to “find a way or make one” to master your craft and improve results.
We're Looking For
High school diploma or equivalent, required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree, preferred
Prior school experience supporting students with special needs, preferred
We're Committed To Giving You
A full-time hourly wage ($22 to $30 per hour, commensurate with experience) and a comprehensive benefits package
A place to grow, learn and be a part of the Ednovate family
