Chemours is seeking a Technician; I&E Trainees to join our growing team. This position will be available at our New Johnsonville, TN location.
The Technician; I&E Trainee role is to support production by performing diagnostics and repairs regarding all instrument and electrical aspects of equipment in a chemical manufacturing plant. The trainee will develop skills by assisting qualified I&E Technicians to diagnose malfunctions of equipment, repair, maintain, replace and install all parts and equipment as required to return the process to normal operation. The technician applies working knowledge and experience to independently improve maintenance techniques and operations, and upgrade equipment.
The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:
Test, troubleshoot and repair electronic equipment and electrical circuits as required by using specialized instruments such as multi-meters, wiggies, clamp-on ammeters, computers, etc.
Troubleshoot process control computer systems. (DCS)
Troubleshoot temperature, level, and pressure control instruments and processors
Troubleshoot AC variable speed drives.
Troubleshoot equipment to detect imperfections. Observe mechanical devices in operation and use all senses to identify potential sources of trouble.
Check and perform preventive maintenance on motor control center equipment; repairs or replaces motors as needed.
Perform ISO calibration on gauges, temperature controllers, etc. - Calibrate gages, controllers, transmitters as required
Utilize technical documentation (prints, manuals, specifications, etc.) to aid in troubleshooting.
The following is required for this role:
Associates Degree in PTECH (Electrical and Instrumentation)
Two years of industrial work experience in the Chemours I&E Apprenticeship Program
Passing score for NCCER Instrument Technician (TINST12)
Passing score for NCCER Industrial Electrician (ELEC26)
