Job Title: School Aide (Paraprofessional)
Location: Kelford, NC 27847
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 2:00 PM (30 hours/week)
Contract Length: Remainder of the school year (through May 29, 2026)
Start Date: ASAP
Position Overview
The School Aide will work under the supervision of the special education department, classroom teacher, and/or designated supervisor to provide instructional and behavioral support to students. This role may also involve assisting with personal care, physical mobility, and therapeutic needs as directed by healthcare professionals.
Key Responsibilities
+ Provide 1:1 support to a male pre-K student (age 3) with significant impairments.
+ Assist with daily living activities and mobility (student uses an adapted stroller).
+ Support classroom activities in a setting with 10 students, 1 teacher, and 1 nurse.
+ Collaborate with the educational team to ensure a safe and supportive learning environment.
Minimum Requirements
+ High School diploma or equivalent.
+ Must be at least 18 years of age.
+ Compliance with all federal, state, and local requirements.
+ Current CPR certification (if applicable).
+ TB questionnaire, PPD, or chest X-ray (if applicable).
+ Current health certificate (per contract or state regulation).
+ Ability to adhere to professional standards of practice.
Preferred Qualifications
+ Experience working with pediatric populations.
+ Compassionate, patient, and a strong team player.
+ Classroom experience preferred but not required.
