Position Summary
The Textile Dye Weigher is responsible for accurately weighing, preparing, and staging dyes and chemicals used in the dyeing process. This position plays a critical role in ensuring color consistency, production efficiency, and overall product quality within the dyehouse.
Key Responsibilities
1. Dye & Chemical Preparation
Accurately weigh dyes, auxiliaries, salts, and chemicals according to approved formulas or batch cards. Mix dye solutions and prepare chemicals required for production batches. Label all prepared materials clearly to ensure traceability.2. Recipe Interpretation & Execution
Read and follow dye recipes, lab matches, and production work orders. Ensure all formulations match machine capacity, fiber type, and production requirements.3. Batch Staging & Delivery
Organize and deliver prepared dyes and chemicals to assigned dye machines. Verify that batch numbers, materials, and colors match production specifications.4. Inventory Control
Monitor dye and chemical stock levels. Record usage and communicate low‑stock items to management or purchasing. Assist with periodic inventory counts.5. Quality & Accuracy
Ensure precise measurements to maintain color accuracy and reduce rework. Maintain a clean and contamination‑free weighing area.6. Documentation & Reporting
Accurately record weights, lot numbers, and batch data for quality tracking. Update digital or manual logs as required by company procedures.7. Safety & Compliance
Follow all safety protocols, including proper handling of chemicals and use of PPE. Maintain compliance with OSHA, environmental, and company safety standards.Qualifications
Required:
High school diploma or equivalent. Strong math skills and attention to detail. Ability to work with precision measuring equipment (scales, measuring tools). Ability to stand, lift, and move materials throughout shifts (typically 50 lbs).Preferred:
Experience in textile dyeing, chemical handling, or manufacturing. Familiarity with dye formulas and textile production processes. Basic computer skills for data entry.Key Competencies
