Work scope includes:
Conduct research and pre-development of innovative e-drive powertrain (eAxle, corner module, inhub motor) for electrified vehiclesSpecific working area includes:conduct eAxle design and evaluation, focusing oil distribution design, sealing design, loss evaluation and mechanical design and mechanical analysisconduct corner module’s integration concept design (drive, steering, braking, suspension)conduct corner module’s detailed design, incl. requirement breakdown, mechanical design & integration, and prototypingconduct in-hub drive’s mechanical concept design and prototypingWork closely with corporate research hub in Renningen, Germany, on project activities and competence development.Work closely with business units to supply cutting edge and competitive technology solutions and to transform them to products.Execute technology scouting in China/Asia covering both academia and industry for preparing strategic decisions.Main responsibilities includePursue technology excellence by contributing brilliant ideas to new product concepts including patent filingSupport project activities to transfer deliverables to business units successfullyManage suppliers and lab facilities for sample construction.QualificationsPh.D or Master degree in discipline of powertrain system, mechanical engineering or electrical engineeringAt least 5 years eAxle/inhub drive design experience in academia or industry for Master degreeExpert knowledge and practical experiences in eAxle/inhub drive design, simulation, fast prototyping and experimental validationFamiliar with mechanical design, thermal management of the powertrain system, intelligent chasis components incl. steering/braking/suspension.Good knowledge with certain level of experience on electric powertrain system and components e.g. inverter, electric motor and gearbox are preferred.Work experience in automotive industryExcellent communication skills, fluent in English (oral and written)Expert knowledge of tools such as Ansys, JMAG, MotorCAD, UG, Matlab/ SimulinkEfficient, goal-oriented, structured working style, experienced in project workPassionate for innovation; filed patents on qualified content during PhD or prior work is preferredStrong team player; open to work in an international environment
