The Vascular Ultrasound Technician is responsible for performing a variety of highly technical, non-invasive vascular and/or cardiology procedures. This includes preparing preliminary test interpretations as ordered by a physician, following established standard operating procedures. The role requires precision, clinical expertise, and a commitment to patient care in a fast-paced hospital environment.
General Summary
The Vascular Ultrasound Tech’s responsibility is to perform a variety of highly technical, non-invasive vascular and/or cardiology procedures and prepare preliminary test interpretations as ordered by physician under established standard operating procedures.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
One to two years of experience as a non-invasive echocardiographic or vascular technician is necessary.
CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED:
BCLS certification.
National Accreditation as a Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) required.
Students that have trained in the Vascular Lab can be hired but must become RVT within six months or their position will be eliminated.
